SUPPORT  FOR  ARTISTS

FLING Company 2024, Image Madison Phillips
At FLING we are keen to support professional artists to explore ideas, develop new work and extend their practice. FLING provides opportunities for artists with residencies and internships, and regularly commissions artists as collaborators on major projects.

If you are an artist interested in connecting with FLING, doing an internship, teaching workshops, engaging with our community, or need some space to develop a new project, get in touch! We would love to hear from you and talk through ideas about how we can support your practice.

emerging artist RESIDENCIES

FLING regularly offers support to our Alumni, Emerging Youth Dance Practitioners and Emerging Artists, with in-kind use of FLING Studio to support the development of their creative practice.
FLING has recently welcomed  Reuben MacDougall Di Manno, Jac Maida, Rory Warne and Cassia Jamieson to the studio.

ALUMNI  COMMISSIONS

FLING Physical Theatre has a proud history of supporting FLING Alumni as they move into Tertiary training courses and professional careers in the Arts. One way we offer this support is through commissioning Alumni in the early stages of their professional careers, to provide them with the opportunity to create a new short work for the FLING Company with the support of FLING staff and resources.

Alumni Commissions also offer a valuable experience for current FLING Company Performers, providing the opportunity to connect with past FLING Performers, to take class and learn material informed by current Tertiary training and professional practices, and to develop an understanding of career pathways in the Arts.
