REGIONAL YOUTH // PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS // INSPIRING PROJECTS
FLING Physical Theatre respectfully acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we live, dance and create, The Djiringanj people, whose custodianship has never been ceded and continues to guide and support our connection to country today. We pay our respect to elders past, present and emerging.
WHO WE ARE
FLING Physical Theatre is an award winning youth dance organisation based on Djiringanj land in the Bega Valley, NSW. We have been creating exceptional work with young people since 2001.
Our mission is to inspire through the creation of contemporary performance. Our works celebrate the experiences of youth, providing a space for young people to explore their identity, creativity, and movement, while being supported by our exceptional staff. FLING spaces are inclusive, accessible, and inspire youth to be brave, curious, and take risks.
Our core program is the FLING Company with performers aged 14-21, who are involved in the
creation and presentation of major projects which have toured within our region and beyond. We also offer younger performance companies YFLING (7-10yrs) and FLUX Creators (11-14yrs). Across the region FLING delivers a broad reaching Community Engagement Program enabling people of all ages to come together move and create.
In our region we are the only performing arts organisation consistently developing and presenting new work.
Our projects inspire and engage the community as performers, makers, and audience. By giving voice to regional perspectives, we create culturally ambitious works that resonate far beyond our region.
In NSW we are uniquely positioned as the largest and most prominent youth dance organisation in the state. As one of just ten major youth dance companies in Australia, FLING is shaping the next generation of artists while enriching the cultural identity of NSW and our regional community.
FLING is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)
and holds Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.

our mission & values
Our mission is to inspire through the creation of contemporary performance.
We are a place of creation and learning. We are all about movement, connection with self and others, and sharing the power of this art.
We are respectful and welcoming of people for who they are right now. In our FLING community we lift each other up to achieve and celebrate personal and professional growth.
Our sights are set on a bright future. We think boldly and take creative risks. Our practice is uniquely centred around hearing the voices of young people as collaborators and co-creators of transformative works.
The creative light of FLING is carried within us and we nurture it in our region. Our contribution is woven into the cultural landscape of our valley and beyond.
