Working with dance rock star Emma Saunders, Artistic Director of the We Are Here Company, young people 12-25 years will develop their skills in dance making & dive into collaborative choreographic tasks in a supportive, joyful space.

FLING'S Regional Youth Arts Explosion has run for 2 highly successful FREE initiatives in 2023 & 2024 with dance rock star Emma Saunders, Artistic Director of the We Are Here Company.
Regional Youth Arts Explosion has brought together young people 12 -25yrs, emerging artists and experienced performance makers for an intensive period of creative tasking and performance making- an inside view to Emma Saunders' process.
FLING has welcomed participants to the program from Victoria, Metro NSW, Canberra and Jindabyne as well as participants from across the Bega Valley.
We've shared the experience with visiting young artists from Naarm/Melbourne based Youth Dance Makers Initiative, and our young people have build ongoing connections to company artists of We Are Here Company - investing in meaningful links to our national sector.
We Are Here Company Artists who have worked on the program include:
Sabrina Muszynski, Naomi Reichardt, Joshua O'Connor and Carlie Shaw
2023 participants presented a recreation of Emma Saunders' work RADICAL TRANSPARENCY - FLING STYLE.
2024 participants presented ENCOUNTER EXPLOSION, a recreation of Emma Saunders' iconic ENCOUNTER project.
*In 2023 & 2024, the program was supported by the Office for Regional Youth in Partnership with Create NSW.
