Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP)

take the pressure down
performing art immersion for regional youth
APRIl 20 - 24
9am - 3pm
FLING STUDIO, BEGA

This five-day Performing Arts Industry Immersion gives regional students the chance to work alongside professional artists and experience what a career in the performing arts can look like.

Fully subsidised through the Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) Program, the program offers rare access to high-quality training, practical learning, and insight into career pathways in Dance, Sound Composition, Lighting Design, and Costume Design.

Students will learn within their chosen stream while also collaborating across all areas to create an original performance outcome. The process reflects how creative teams work in the real world, including working to shared timelines and responding to the pressures of a live production.

who  is  it  for?

  • This program is designed for Year 9–12 students who have space in their school schedule to participate.

  • We are particularly keen to hear from students with a strong interest in Dance and Performance, Music Composition for Performance, Lighting Design, and Costume Design and Making.

  • This opportunity is ideal for students who are curious about or considering a future career in the Creative Industries.

WHaT  To  Expect?

Five days of learning and collaboration
Across the week, participants will explore their chosen creative area and gain hands-on experience in how it works in the real world. Everyone will also work together to create a new performance, bringing together all elements of production.

Learn how to write a CV and artist bio
During the week, there will be practical sessions on how to write a CV and a short artist bio - important tools for anyone starting out in the creative industries.

Working like professionals
Participants will work in small groups and learn how creative teams collaborate in a professional environment, applying their new skills to real creative tasks.

A chance to perform
At the end of the week, families and friends will be invited to a sharing where participants can showcase what they have created and the skills they have learned.
