A SITE RESPONSIVE
PERFORMANCE PROJECT
AFTER is a site responsive performance, co - created by young artists in FLING Company.
Our first outdoor event of the AFTER series, was on Short Point Headland on 22 & 23 Feb, exploring place and the terrain of our home.
AFTER looks at the resilience of this land, our endurance in the elements and the natural theatre our landscapes offers.
This free event at Short Point included live performance with local musician, dancer and FLING Alumni, Leif Helland.
AFTER has been an ongoing project through 2024 of artistic development with FLING Company.
It is a container for experimentation, risk taking, exploring new collaborations and sustaining skills in performance.
AFTER at Short Point was Co- Directed by Beth Lee and Paddy Meessmann, Co- Created by young artists in FLING Company and Leif Helland.
AFTER has dissolved into the rock and will find home on new terrain on glorious Djiringanj Land later in 2025. If you enjoyed the work, keep following the project via our website and social media.

AFTER has been formed in response to our local natural urban/suburban environments here on Djiringanj land.
Excerpts of AFTER were premiered at FLING Studio in December 2024 as part of a triple bill season titled - "There's a dance in every bit of this place." Featuring works by FLING's three youth performance companies.
AFTER will be presented as a series of site responsive performance events in natural and urban locations across the Bega Valley in 2025.
